Nice job by Tom Cable. He really gave Campbell a vote of confidence Sunday by benching him in favor of Bruce Gradkowski.
Campbell was not having a good game and he wasn’t spectacular in week 1 or anything, but Campbell is a solid quarterback. He put up solid numbers in Washington.
It’s not like Gradkowski blew the doors off when he came in, either. He went 11/22 with 1 TD and 1 INT. If Cable thinks Gradkowski is the guy for them, fine. Go with him. Rotating quarterbacks in favor of who is “hot” just leads to more inconsistency.
Frankly, I don’t know how anyone can be effective throwing the ball in Oakland. They have a very weak receiving core. Oakland is a black hole.
The Raiders won in the end, but Campbell is a better quarterback than his numbers suggest so far. Cable needs to give his vote of confidence to Campbell.
