Braves move back into tie in the NL East

Finally, the Braves win and the Phillies lose. The Braves pulled it out in dramatic fashion with an extra innings win and moved back into a tie with the Phillies.

Alex Gonzalez hammered a three-run shot several rows back into the left field bleachers off  St. Louis pitcher Mitchell Boggs to give the Braves a 6-3 victory.

It was the Braves MLB leading 24th win in their last AB. This team has resiliency and they seem to explode just when you think they’re down and out.

“That’s a great win,” Gonzalez said. “You never give up, especially with this kind of team. It was a great feeling after that. I tried to get a fly ball deep. I think I got it deep enough.” (quote from this article)

It would be great if the Braves could take the series tomorrow. These kinds of wins can incite a nice win streak. Let’s hope that it does. The Braves really need it right now.

Tim Hudson squares up against Kyle Lohse in a rare Sunday night game. First pitch set for 7:05 p.m. CST at Turner Field.
